This residential development transformed a 97,000 square foot site on the Kings County Hospital Campus into 293 units of affordable and supportive housing with facilities and amenities that promote sustainability, healthy living and, wellness. A “U” shaped structure, the building ranges from five to nine stories, enclosing a courtyard facing CAMBA Gardens I to the east. Developed as amenity spaces for the residents, the courtyard and other exterior open spaces offer opportunities for both passive and active recreation. The development includes multi-purpose spaces for social services, adult education, health services, indoor/outdoor recreation, and the arts. The project is participating in the Enterprise Green Communities Initiative, NYSERDA Multi-Family Performance Program, and LEED for Homes program.
