Inspired by the complexity of urban systems, Athena Unroe is drawn to the intersection between the natural and built environment at multiple scales: regional, infrastructural, architectural, and human. As an architect, she explores these systems through active engagement with the environment, a rigorous analysis of site and program, and iterating on the design options that unfold. Through her work both locally and abroad, she understands the importance of building resilient infrastructure. In 2019, she was an invited participant in the AIA New York’s Civic Leadership Program.
Athena holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union.
