Caesura is a mixed-use, mixed-income building in the heart of the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District. The building includes space for The Center for Fiction and Mark Morris Dance Group – new cultural uses that enrich and diversify the district. Above the cultural base, a mix of 123 affordable and market-rate apartments accommodate a range of modern urban households. Each unit has been carefully laid out to create light-filled spaces with high-quality finishes and thoughtful furnishing options. A rich array of social and amenity spaces enhance the residential experience, while extensive glazing at the lower floors highlight the available cultural components and activates the pedestrian experience. In-set balconies and double-height terraces articulate the upper base and tower. Designed to meet LEED Gold criteria, the refined modern building complements the surrounding context with a scale and massing that reflects and enhances the neighboring buildings. This project is designed in association with Bernheimer Architecture.
