NYCHA Design Guidelines: Integrated Tools for Advancing Design Excellence
Through a collaborative process, Dattner Architects assisted New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) in the development of revamped, comprehensive design standards for the agency. Learn about NYCHA’s goals, our role, and how the toolkit is being used on June 12th at the AIA New York | Center for Architecture.
Dattner Architects’ Senior Associate Heather McKinstry will talk through the process she led which included workshopping ways to share this resource in an easily accessible way to agency staff, tenants, partner organizations, and consultants– while also maintaining it as a public resource. The Design Guidelines will provide a level of consistency, quality and sustainable standards throughout the vast number of projects the agency undertakes to building and maintain the largest stock of public housing in the nation. The panel will also include our NYCHA client’s Dylan Baker-Rice, Joshua Katz, and Matthew Charney and our colleague Tamar Kisilevitz.
