Making Cities Vibrant and Equitable
Dattner Architects’ culture is shaped by our steadfast commitment to architecture that positively impacts our cities. We are advocates for the urban realm and champions for the highest aspirations of every project. We are both architects and advocates of each project—facilitating the complex exchanges between communities, professionals, and government officials required to identify the project’s vision. Working with teammates, engaging with stakeholders, and collaborating with peers, we seek to understand the project’s social and physical contexts and programmatic requirements. These discoveries become the basis of our design.

From Concept to Realization
Integral to our practice is the determination to realize our designs through skillful detailing, knowledge of materials, and an understanding of construction. Our iterative design process is informed by knowledge of how buildings are built—and how they will be used. We serve as stewards, preserving the design intent through project completion and striving to create the greatest positive impact for the communities we serve.

Brandon Wang
Brandon Wang
Architect
"At Dattner Architects, we share a space in which we can learn from and inform each other, and that space encourages team-based design work in pursuit of civic betterment. We pool together knowledge and experiences, which help shape our collaborative, solutions-driven spirit."
Rebecca McCarthy
Rebecca McCarthy

"It is a privilege to work with people who care about the experiences of those who inhabit the spaces we create. From design through construction, there is an incredible balance orchestrated between the project’s details, form, materials, and performance which generates thoughtful architecture with lasting and meaningful impact."
John Seward
Associate
"One of our assets is not only the depth, but the breadth of experience the people of Dattner bring and share with each other. This gives the firm the flexibility and resilience to exceed the expectations of our clients and meet complex project challenges."
Pascale Baladi
Pascale Baladi
Project Architect
"Dattner Architects is fundamentally concerned with the city’s civic needs. We work together to re-shape the urban fabric and tackle the ever-changing necessities of urban life required for our society to thrive socially, economically, and dynamically."
Gia Mainiero
Associate Principal, Studio Director
"Our team shares a commitment to an iterative and flexible design process, motivated by a genuine desire to understand the nuances of each program, stakeholder, and site. The result is a project-specific design approach that removes preconceived notions and elevates the identity of our sustaining infrastructure."
Keith Engel
Senior Associate, Studio Director
"We have the privilege to bring ‘essential’ architecture to communities who need it most. Whether providing transitional housing for homeless families, or creating hundreds of deeply-affordable homes, or bringing online buildings that substantially reduce our carbon footprint, we seek to facilitate projects that truly have a positive impact.”
Earl Jones
Associate, Digital Design Director
"We embrace technology as an important tool, but don’t shy away from building study models by hand or drawing with trace. Our design process is developed to embrace this full range of tools—from analog to digital and the discoveries in-between."
Mary Beth Lardaro
Associate, Human Resources Director
"We have a diverse group of people at Dattner Architects—in terms of thought processes, approach, and interests. Our firm culture allows individuals to make contributions and shape career paths that are uniquely theirs. Their strengths become the strength of our firm."
