Gia Mainiero to Speak at the 2025 Design-Build Conference & Expo

Partner Gia Mainiero, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, DBIA will be a featured speaker at the 2025 Design-Build Conference & Expo, hosted by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).

Gia will join the session “Alternative Technical Concepts – Roadways to Success in Innovative Solutions at New York’s JFK Airport” on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10:30–11:30 AM PDT, as part of the Track 2: Design-Build: The Innovation Engine series — exploring how design-build drives both funding and technical innovation.

The session will highlight the $1.24 billion Design-Build project transforming John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Central Terminal Area, including a 1,950-car Ground Transportation Center, reconfigured roadway network, and iconic pedestrian bridge. The panel — featuring representatives from Skanksa Halmar JV, Parsons Corporation, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey — will explore how Alternative Technical Concepts (ATCs) were key to advancing innovation, efficiency, and design excellence.

As Lead Architect, Gia will share how Dattner Architects’ collaborative design approach supported the project’s alignment with the One JFK Vision Plan while enhancing both the traveler experience and the project’s sustainability goals, including Envision and Parksmart Certification.

Dattner Architects is honored to contribute to this conversation on design-build innovation, infrastructure resilience, and collaborative project delivery that shapes the future of public architecture. Learn more about the conference program here.
