The Shefa School has received a National Design Excellence Award from Society of American Registered Architects (SARA).
The project transformed a 1920s office building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side into a 12-story vertical campus for K–8 students with learning differences. The design supports Shefa’s dual-language, personalized learning model with adaptable classrooms, collaborative spaces, art and music studios, a gym, and rooftop play areas—all while preserving the building’s historic terracotta façade and copper cornice.
By combining historic preservation with innovative, student-centered design, Shefa School empowers students, fosters creativity, and strengthens the local community.
