Heather McKinstry Featured Panelist at Regenerative Metropolis

This past fall, Heather McKinstry, Studio Director and Senior Associate at Dattner Architects, served as a featured speaker at New York Passive House’s Regenerative Metropolis Symposium, a day-long program focused on Passive House performance, design, and community impact.

During the Multifamily + Regeneration panel, Heather highlighted Dattner Architects’ work on WSFSHH at 108th Street (Lot 26), an 84-unit transitional, supportive, and affordable senior housing project designed to meet Passive House standards. She shared how the Design Team used Passive House as a framework to advance strategies not often prioritized in affordable housing, including material selection, on-site renewable energy opportunities, and the design of the units themselves, all leading to a project that won Round 1 Future Housing Initiative funding from HPD & NYSERDA.
