Dattner Architects Featured in The Architect’s Newspape
In a recent article by Jack Murphy, Editor in Chief, in The Architect’s Newspaper, Alafia is recognized as a significant model for the future of housing. Planned and designed by Dattner Architects in collaboration with SCAPE, the 27-acre mixed-use development in East New York advances a wellness-centered vision that brings together affordable housing, healthcare, open space, and community resources within a resilient urban framework. The article highlights the recent completion of Phase 1, which delivered 576 affordable homes and marks an important milestone in the broader plan which will deliver more than 2,400 affordable and supportive homes across the full campus.
As Murphy writes, “If progress continues in the same way as its impressive first phase, Alafia will soon be an important example of how to design housing that stands ready to handle the challenges of the 21st century.”
We are proud to see Alafia recognized as part of a broader commitment to design that supports health, connection, and everyday life.
