Dattner Architects’ Women+ and Sustainable Practice Groups Present “Building a Sustainable New York: A Conversation with the Women Behind Alafia”
On March 31, Dattner Architects’ Women+ and Sustainable Practice Groups proudly present Building a Sustainable New York: A Conversation with the Women Behind Alafia.
Join us for an in-depth discussion with the women behind Alafia, a 25+ acre master plan in Brooklyn, New York, centered on health, wellness, and affordable housing. Moderated by Dattner Architects’ Rachel Padowicz, Senior Architect, and Shefali Sanghvi, Director of Sustainability and Associate Principal, the panel will offer a closer look at both the broader master plan and its resulting phases.
The panel features:
Laura Humphrey, Senior Director of Energy + Sustainability at L+M Development Partners;
Rachel McCormick, Development Analyst at APEX Building Group;
Jen Switala, Associate Principal at Dattner Architects;
Deniz Secilmis, Associate at Dattner Architects;
The conversation will explore how the project was realized – from Master Planning to the final phases of the development – and the lessons learned from the design team and client group.
