Located in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, the new Prospect Plaza development has transformed a 4.5-acre scattered site into 394-units of affordable and public housing, with supporting amenities. Designed and built in three phases, the full project offers 80 units of NYCHA public housing, and includes space for a new supermarket, community facility, and new recreation areas.
Prospect Plaza Phase I of the development achieved LEED for Homes Platinum certification and is Active Design Verified. Offering 110 affordable housing units, the development also includes garden plots and outdoor play and exercise amenities for the residents.
Awarded LEED Gold in 2017, Prospect Plaza Phase II offers 149 affordable units, and features an indoor gym, children’s playground, and a resident created lobby mural.
The final phase, the Saratoga Site, encompasses a five-story elevator building organized around a central courtyard. The new building offers 135 units and retail space for the supermarket and community facility.
