Advancing Equity in Aging: Kavya Cherala Presents at Forefront Fellowship
Kavyashri Cherala, Project Architect at Dattner Architects and a 2024–2025 Forefront Fellow, recently presented at the Lifelong Capstone event, where she shared innovative strategies to support older adults in New York City. Representing Dattner Architects’ commitment to resilient, energy-efficient, and socially impactful design, Kavya contributed her expertise to a year-long fellowship focused on aging in place and equity in the built environment.
The event highlighted original projects and policy recommendations developed with the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and featured keynote remarks from Council Member Crystal Hudson. We are proud to recognize Kavya’s leadership in this important initiative.
Forefrontis a yearlong leadership development fellowship cultivating emerging talent in urban design, development, policy, and advocacy. Each year, selected Fellows immerse themselves in on-the-ground, collaborative learning on a topic of pressing importance for the future of New York City. The ninth Forefront Fellowship, Lifelong, imagines how to create an age-friendly New York City for all.
