Dattner Architects Featured in AIA New York’s Oculus Magazine
Dattner Architects’ enduring commitment to essential architecture is spotlighted in the Fall 2025 issue of Oculus AIA New York’s quarterly magazine.
Paul Bauer wrote an op-ed entitled “Building for the Essential Workers Who Make Our Cities Livable,” emphasizing the role of design in shaping equitable and dignified public spaces.
“It is our responsibility to create facilities that are transformative to worker dignity, represent the aspirations of communities, and become catalysts for placemaking,” Paul writes.
Bauer highlights how this philosophy has informed the design of Dattner Architects’ projects — including the Manhattan Districts 1/2/5 Garage and the Brooklyn Community District 3 Garage — demonstrating how investing in design excellence for essential workers affirms both their labor and their dignity.
